Reborn. A new name for AV Soul’s founding company
AV Soul’s founding company Stump Furniture has a new name.
The long established and highly respected Yorkshire based, bespoke handmade furniture business, Stump Furniture (www.stumpfurniture.co.uk) will now be known as Born of Wood (www.bornofwood.com).
Set up by Stuart Whewell in 1998 as a furniture manufacturer specialising in the use of reclaimed woods, Stuart admits that the business has been grown and shaped by the economic climate and ever changing customer demands.
“We’ve grown from a business that specialised in using reclaimed woods, to one that is much more about creating furniture to meet our customer’s unique requirements and tastes – whatever wood or material, whatever style. As the business has matured, we’ve evolved and grown to be increasingly connected to our customers. We really take the time to understand them, the role the piece of furniture will play in their home; the role the piece of furniture will play in their life. I came to the conclusion that the business had grown up and outgrown our name. We wanted something that better reflected the nature of our business in 2018, twenty years on from when I started the business!”
Over its 20 years of operation, Stump Furniture has gained an impressive reputation for creating all manner of furniture as well as interiors and handmade fitted kitchens with 5 star reviews aplenty across their various social media channels. Over this period of time, what began to stand out was the customer’s reaction to seeing their ideas come to life and this has been the inspiration for the new name.
“Much of the joy we gain in our business is from the relationships that we develop with our customers through the way we collaborate on their design ideas. The result is always a piece of furniture or kitchen that the customer feels they truly helped create and gave birth to. Our customers genuinely love the finished pieces and the items become a treasured part of their family.”
